Candidates without any accompanying spouse or partner (under common law)
- Maximum 500 points are allocated for the core human capital index
- Another 100 points are awarded for skill transferability factors
- A total of 600 points are reserved for factors like PNP, arranged employment in the country, presence of siblings, Canadian study experience and French language capability.
Candidates with an accompanying spouse or partner (under common law)
- Maximum 460 points are allocated for the core human capital index for principal applicant and 40 for the spouse or common law partner
- Another 100 points are awarded for skill transferability factors

French language ability

- 15 points on the CRS scorecard for candidates having siblings in Canada. Such siblings should be at least permanent residents of the nation and be above 18 years of age.
- Similarly, the above mentioned points are awarded for the siblings of the common law partner or spouse.
- Further, in all cases, the candidate must share a common parent. Hence, the relationship can be through actual parentage, adoption, blood, matrimonial or even common law.

Comprehensive ranking system (CRS) – Skill transferability factors
A candidate seeking awards for skill transferability factors can get a maximum of 100 points. These are further available in five combinations. Yet Maximum 50 points are available for each combination. However, in case a candidate secures over and above the 100 points, only 100 points will be given to the candidate on the CRS scorecard.
Yet, in this case, the candidates who are single or with spouse or common law partner are all awarded similar scores for their skill transferability factors. Hence the spouse or common law partner isn’t able to add any additional points on the CRS scorecard for the principal applicant.

Scoring additional points on the CRS scorecard!
- A PNP nomination from any Canadian province except for Quebec yields 600 points on the CRS scorecard.
- A qualified offer for arranged employment from a Canadian employer organisation for occupations mentioned in the Major Group of Senior Management occupations gets a total of 200 points.
- However, a qualified offer for arranged employment from a Canadian employer organisation for any other occupations other than those mentioned in the Major Group of Senior Management occupations gets a total of 50 points.
Canadian study experience and CRS points
For candidates with eligible educational credentials from one or two year post secondary school education program in Canadian shores gets 15 points on the CRS scorecard. However, for candidates with the following credentials, a maximum of 30 points are awarded for the CRS scorecard on Canadian study experience portfolio.
- eligible educational credentials from three year post secondary school education program in Canadian shores
- Similar eligible educational credentials from a recognised Canadian university level program at Masters degree
- Likewise, a professional degree for occupations mentioned in the National occupational classification matrix for Skill Levels of ‘A’ and a license from a Canadian provincial licensing authority or regulatory body
- An eligible educational credentials from a university level program at PhD doctoral program from Canada
However, these are awarded with following riders-
- Such a candidate was enrolled in full time educational program or training in Canada for a period of at least eight months.
- Further, the candidate was physically present in the nation for the above mentioned eight months of the curriculum.
French language ability

Your siblings in Canada bring additional points on the CRS scorecard. It may be noted that for the CRS scorecard, the maximum of 15 points will be given for one or more siblings (of self or of spouse or common law partner) in Canada.
- 15 points on the CRS scorecard for candidates having siblings in Canada. Such siblings should be at least permanent residents of the nation and be above 18 years of age.
- Similarly, the above mentioned points are awarded for the siblings of the common law partner or spouse.
- Further, in all cases, the candidate must share a common parent. Hence, the relationship can be through actual parentage, adoption, blood, matrimonial or even common law partners sharing parentage with the above mentioned siblings.
It must be noted that in calculating the above mentioned scores, the candidate can enjoy the benefits only for the 600 points. Hence for the candidates scoring above the 600 points due to any of the above mentioned subjects still he/she can get only 600 points and not more. (Instead of 616 or 647 points).
